Healthandfitnessph | Philippine Heart Association Advances Heart Health Advocacy at World Heart Day 2025 | Quezon City, Philippines – The Philippine Heart Association (PHA) and the Philippine College of Cardiology (PCC) successfully gathered hundreds of heart health advocates at the Brgy. Bagong Pag-asa Multipurpose Hall to celebrate World Heart Day 2025 on 26 October 2025, championing the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat: Galaw-Galaw, Pilipinas!”

The community-driven celebration emphasized the urgency of an active lifestyle and early prevention as key defenses against cardiovascular disease, the country’s leading cause of mortality. PHA President Dr. Walid Amil underscored a compelling reminder: “We only have one heart, and it is our responsibility to love and protect it.”

Throughout the event, participants benefitted from a comprehensive lineup of FREE services and activities, including:
• Health screenings and risk assessments
• Heart health lectures by top cardiologists
• Hands-only CPR demonstration for emergency preparedness
• New and fun Zumba routines to promote physical activity
• Awarding of winners of the T-shirt Design and Jingle-Reels contests

Inspirational insights were delivered by respected PHA cardiologists. Dr. Tiongco encouraged Filipinos to begin their wellness journey today, stating that even the smallest steps can make a big difference for the heart. Dr. Jun Aventura provided practical guidance through his New-Life Tips Against Hypertension, empowering individuals to take control of their blood pressure. Meanwhile, Dr. Rodney Jimenez shared simple yet lifesaving ways to reduce the risks of heart attack and stroke, reinforcing that prevention remains the strongest line of defense.
The event, held in partnership with the World Heart Federation, was supported by UNILAB, Corbridge Group, Del Monte Philippines, Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc., and Novartis, showcasing a strong collaboration across the health and wellness sector.
World Heart Day 2025 stands as a nationwide call to action for Filipinos to move more, eat better, manage stress, and be informed.
