LONDON (Health & Fitness Journal) – Russia barred 100 Canadians from entering the country on Monday in retaliation for Ottawa’s ban on Russian citizens, the latest in a long line of expulsions from Russia and western countries at each other over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Canadians added to its sanctions list included officials, business leaders and individuals involved in “media and financial structures directly involved in forming an aggressive anti-Russian course.”
The list included Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, manager at Volatus Aerospace Corp, a handful of correspondents for public broadcaster CBC and several members of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, as well as other politicians, commentators, industrialists and activists.
