An 8-year-old boy died after being hit by Van while caroling in Marinduque
The family of an 8-year-old boy will not enjoy Christmas this year after he was killed when he was hit by a van in Marinduque.
According to a report by GMA News, the victim’s cousin told authorities they were singing Christmas carols when the tragedy occurred. They claimed to have crossed the street but the victim was left behind.
He claimed that his relative abruptly crossed the street and was hit by a van. Val Rosales Jacobe, the van driver, was identified. After the incident, Jacobe quickly surrendered.
He was escorted to the police station but refused to speak to the journalists. According to the report, the police investigation into the above incident is ongoing.
Meanwhile, a 7-year-old child in Quezon was injured after being hit by a truck on the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan. The boy claimed to have been walking the side of the road with his buddies to sing Christmas carols when the accident happened.
The victim is currently recovering in hospital. The driver of the truck, on the other hand, is still being sought on the run. Authorities are advising parents not to leave youngsters unattended in the middle of the street.
