WASHINGTON (Health & Fitness Journal) – The U.S. Federal Communications Commission said Thursday it has finalized new rules requiring labels to help consumers compare broadband internet services.

The FCC requires labels similar to the ubiquitous nutritional labels on US groceries and requires broadband providers to post labels at the point of sale that list prices, speeds, fees and data allowances.

The labels were first introduced in 2016 as a voluntary program. Congress directed the FAA to mandate them under the Infrastructure Act of 2021.
