PARIS (Health & Fitness Journal) – France’s competition watchdog has fined eyewear maker Essilor International (EPA:) 81 million euros ($81.27 million) over 11 years for discriminatory business practices, it said on Tuesday.
The competition authority said that Essilor’s actions were aimed at hampering the development of online sales of corrective lenses.
Parent company EssilorLuxottica, the manufacturer of Ray-Bans, was also fined €15 million.
